Reviews

Will Murdock – 6 – Conceded four goals, but was not at fault. He’ll wish he had covered the first post better for the third. Made a really good save with his face in the first half and proactively came off his line to cut balls into the box.

Jaydan Kamason – 6 – Returning from injury, he played just 45 minutes and was pretty solid. Didn’t have as many problems defensively as the rest and made a good cross during one of United’s rare attacks.

Albert Mills – 5.5 – Outperformed his defensive partner in tracking runners, but struggled during physical duels and lost in some key moments.

Godliness in Conki – 4.5 – Started poorly with a giveaway at the back and couldn’t get his positioning right with Jack Fletcher on the left of the United defence. He seemed to step out too often, leaving acres of space to attack. In the second half he moved to the left back position, but felt uncomfortable in possession.

Jac Fletcher – 5.5 – Provided the assist for United’s goal with a good throw into the penalty area. Provided another dangerous cross in the first half and generally created United’s few half-chances with his passing. But he had problems in possession, both as a left back and when he entered midfield in the second half.

Tyler Fletcher – 5 – He never really got possession of the ball and as the deepest midfielder he ventured out of position too often, leaving United exposed, especially after Devaney wasn’t next to him to provide cover.

Jacob Devaney – 6 – He gave United the lead with his late goal in the first half, following a cross from Jack Fletcher. He covered the ground well and kept United compact in the central areas. Was moved to right back in the second half and had some problems, including a wayward back pass that set up Anderlecht’s second goal.

Bendito Mantato – 6 – One of the few who wanted to make things happen during the attack. Had some nice Mazy runs, but despite his best efforts he often didn’t quite get it done. He failed to get his shots into the penalty area.

Jayce Fitzgerald – 5 – In the number 10 position, but never exerted any control over the game or created anything in attack.

James Scanlon – 5 – Never really got into the game and had no speed on the wing like Mantato on the other side.

Gabriele Biancheri – 5.5 – He held the ball up quite well when he received it, but suffered from leftovers all night.

Substitutes

Then Armer – 5 – Couldn’t match the speed and physicality of Anderlecht’s attackers.

Jim Thwaites – 5.5 – Didn’t offer enough grip in midfield to match the opposition and couldn’t show his quality on the ball to make up for this.
