One of the most popular figures in the history of Pittsburgh Pirates, Dave Parker, has died, confirmed the MLB franchise on Saturday. He was 74.
Parker, who was also lovingly known as ‘The Cobra’, was named seven MLB All-Star teams. He achieved more than 2,700 hits and hit 339 gays during his legendary career in the big league.
He received National League MVP awards for his striking season 1978.

Although he is best known for his term of office at the Pirates, Parker also had Stints with the Cincinnati Reds, the athletics, Milwaukee Brewers and two other MLB clubs.

Parker died less than two months before he was planned in the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, New York.

Parker was an important part of the World Series-winning team of the Pirates from 1979. He was also a member of the Athletics 1989 World Series Championship Team.
