PhonePe closes Pincode’s B2C branch and focuses on B2B solutions

Pincode, a hyperlocal shopping app from PhonePe, is winding down its business-to-consumer (B2C) vertical, which also offered deliveries within 15-30 minutes, and will focus on expanding its B2B (business-to-business) solutions for offline stores, the company said in its statement.

Sameer Nigam, Founder of PhonePe and Group CEO, said, “Pincode’s mission is to provide Indian offline retailers with cutting-edge technology solutions to help them grow their businesses and stay competitive against new e-commerce and quick-commerce companies. With this goal in mind, self-operating yet another B2C quick commerce app distracted us from our core mission of helping offline business partners achieve operational efficiencies, improved margins and visibility and growth in their existing offline activities.”

It moved travel and moved to the main PhonePe app. This comes at a time when the company is preparing for its IPO.

Vivek Lohcheb, CEO of Pincode added, “As part of this strategic decision, we will now focus the resources of the entire Pincode team on accelerating the buildout and scale of a range of B2B business solutions for offline businesses across India. Pincode already provides inventory management, order management and other ERP solutions to businesses, and offers B2B direct sourcing and replenishment solutions for select categories.”
