The PGA HOPE Captain’s Cup is a friendly competition between the captains of more than thirty different PGA HOPE Play Day sites. Playday captains form their own team to represent their golf course. The goal is to meet and network with other PGA HOPE members from other sites. More importantly, building and promoting ‘unit cohesion’ and pride in the Playday sites.
The idea belonged to Chris Paulusussenwhich became a reality in 2023, where the first Captain’s Cup was held at Metropolitan Golf Links in Oakland. The team representing Mariners Point Golf Center won in 2023, and they subsequently hosted the tournament 2024 at Moffet Field Golf Coursewhere the team comes from Bartley Cavanaugh Golf Course won. The Captain’s Cup was contested on November 24, 2025 at Bartley Cavanaugh Golf Course and was won by the team from Friday PGA HOPE play days at Haggin Oaks.
The perpetual trophy is now proudly displayed in the MacKenzie Sports Bar and Grille in Haggin Oaks. The bragging rights that come with each year’s winners are priceless!
Everyone had a fun time!
