The Professional Fighters League is embarking on a pivotal year, kicking off on Saturday 2026 with PFL: Road to Dubai at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, UAE.
Gone is PFL founder Donn Davis. Ray Sefo, former PFL executive director, has disappeared. Former PFL CEO Peter Murray has also disappeared. After an apparent house cleaning, John Martin is now firmly in place as CEO of the PFL, and he has a lot of work to do.
Francis Ngannou is nowhere to be found and Cris Cyborg is nearing retirement. With Kayla Harrison leaving for the UFC and Ryan Bader leaving for RIZIN, the league is short on star power, but Usman Nurmagomedov remains a bright spot.
Nurmagomedov, who came in as part of the PFL’s acquisition of Bellator, is 27, undefeated at 20-0, 1NC, and now holds lightweight gold. After back-to-back wins over Paul Hughes, the cousin of UFC legend Khabib now takes on PFL World Tournament lightweight winner Alfie Davis to come out on top in PFL: Road to Dubai.
