PFF Power Ratings Release: NFL Risers and Upcoming Schedules Ahead of Week 10

3 minutes, 43 seconds Read

  • The Cardinals’ big win puts them up in the rankings: Arizona’s win on Monday night in Dallas gave the team the most lift this week.
  • The Falcons could benefit from a simple scheme: Atlanta has a tough road game in Berlin this week against Indianapolis before the Falcons will face three negatively-rated teams.

Each week of the NFL season brings new market signals, and assets are one of the sharpest tools for cutting through the noise. PFF’s updated ratings don’t just tell you who’s playing well; they also help explain where perception and reality can drift apart.

In this article we highlight the three teams that have gained the most ground following last week’s results. We’ll also analyze schedule strength over the next four weeks, identifying the softest and hardest upcoming plans – an important lens for spotting overreactions in lines, totals, and futures.

The aim is to give gamblers a prescient edge: who is moving forward, who is facing resistance and where opportunities may still lie hidden.

Top 3 risers

Arizona Cardinals +1.2

An emphatic win on Monday Night Football was in order for the Cardinals. They traveled to Dallas and walked away with a 10-point win as 3-point underdogs to snap their five-game losing streak. Jacoby Brissett looked great, but Kyler Murray could return as soon as this week.

Buffalo Bills +1.1

Stop me if you’ve heard this before, but the Buffalo Bills beat the Kansas City Chiefs in the regular season. The Bills claim the top spot in PFF’s Power Ratings this week after a seven-point win at home. The defensive line for the Bills was the biggest story here, rushing Patrick Mahomes at a 46.2% clip.

Seattle Seahawks +.9

Sam Darnold threw the ball all over the field during Seattle’s bye week, leading the Seahawks to a 24-point win over the Commanders. That triumph makes it three in a row and six of their last seven. Despite the strong start to the season, Seattle still ranks fifth among NFC teams in Super Bowl odds.

Toughest upcoming schedules

Minnesota Vikings (Average PR of 3.4)

W10: BLT (5.1) | W11: CHI (-.3) | W12: GB (5.6) | W13: SEA (3.1)

Schedule Notes: The Ravens retain the Thursday Night Football advantage for the Week 10 tilt. After two home games, Minnesota will do another back-to-back on the road when it travels to Green Bay and Seattle.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Average PR of 3.1)

W10: NO (.2) | W11: BUF (6,6) | W12: LA (5.6) | W13: ARZ (-.1)

Schedule Notes: The Bucs will host a strong Patriots team in their bye before tough road games at the Bills and the Rams. Both are difficult travel destinations due to differences in weather and time zone. They will host the Cardinals who come East in Week 13.

New York Giants (Average PR of 2.6)

W10: CHI (-.3) | W11: GB (5,6) | W12: IT (4.7) | W13: NO (.2)

Schedule Notes: To make matters even more difficult, the Giants will be on the road for three of their next four games, with the lone home game coming next week. In Week 10, New York hosts the strongest, most powerful team still on the schedule: Green Bay.

Easiest upcoming schedules

Atlanta Falcons (Average PR of -4.4)

W10: IN (1.5) | W11: AUTO (-2.4) | W12: NO (-10.7) | W13: NEW (-6.2)

Schedule Notes: A tough road game in Berlin against Indianapolis this week before the Falcons will face three negatively-rated teams. Their easiest matchup, according to ability, will be paired with the toughest situational spot. In Week 12, the Saints return from their bye week to host Atlanta.

Baltimore Ravens (Average PR of -3.8)

W10: MINUS (1,1) | W11: CLV (-6) | W12: NEW (-6.2) | W13: CIN (-4.3)

Schedule Notes: Baltimore will continue its three-game road trip this week to Minnesota and the following week to Cleveland. The Jets will have additional rest advantage in Week 12 since they played on Thursday in Week 11.

New England Patriots (Average PR of -3.2)

W10: TB (1.9) | W11: NEW (-6.2) | W12: CIN (-4.3) | W13: NEW (-4.1)

Schedule Notes: The only two things to note on the Patriots’ schedule are that they will take Tampa Bay out of the bye week in Week 10 – and they will have an extra rest advantage in Week 12 after playing on Thursday Night Football.
