The Phoenix Suns may be months away from playing competitive basketball, but that does not mean that there are no games that have to interest fans in the valley. National competition takes place in both Europe and Africa, and the Suns will have Rookiecentrum Kaman Maluach play for South Sudan in Afobrasette.
The 18-year-old gets a great opportunity to improve an attacking match that was seriously limited in Summer League, while he also learned from some boys who have both competition experience and exposure to play for some of the top teams in Europe. Some can claim that it stays in Phoenix and exercise is the move, but this is probably a positive part for Maluach.
Sunsen must keep an eye on Wenyen Gabriel at Afobrasket.
Although the Suns lets another South Sudanese international in Bol Bol, leave this season – a decision that you could claim is the wrong one – there is another player who is standing next to Maluach that the franchise should be interested as their third center. That would be 28-year-old Wenyen Gabriel, who you might remember from his time with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Gabriel signed with the European powerhouse Bayern Munich In Germany this summer this summer for a two -year deal, but that should not deter the Suns. As is often the case – although it has not been made public at the moment – players have clauses in their contracts that say that if there is NBA interest, they can leave their team in Europe and go back to the competition.

Gabriel bounced around between 2019-2024 and played for no fewer than eight teams. But just like Nigel Hayes -Davis – who signed the Suns from Europe this summer – it could now be that he comes back for a last run. This would also have the added bonus to also be a good mentor for Maluach, something that cannot be overlooked with an 18-year prospect.
At the moment Nick Richards is the supposed third option on the Roster, but he is someone who would like to see many fans traded. He was reportedly part of a failed package that was compiled for Jonathan Kuminga, so at least we know that the suns are open to move it as quickly as possible. Gabriel could do a lot of what Richards does, but at half the costs.
Not that the $ 5 million or so Richards makes the suns hurt – they are no longer above the apron – but every bit helps. Gabriel has taken more 3-Pointers in a little to extend his career, and he would spend Maluach and Mark Williams sparingly (assuming both staying healthy). There is nothing else going on now, so why shouldn’t you view Gabriel for yourself and make your own decision.
