Perception and clothing | December 12, 2025

Hello!

Time passes quickly now. Follow along, I don’t. School is in full swing and the last week before Christmas is pretty crazy. But it’s a lot of fun! It feels like pure luxury to be able to follow this training. Or okay, not all moments are fun but I definitely feel rooted in the feeling of being in the right place at the right time.

The course is now experimental psychology and includes the subject of perception, that is, the study of how we perceive our environment. It’s incredibly interesting and strange that our brains are experts at anticipating and filling in information that may not be there. You should not think that what we see and hear is an objective description of what is happening around us.

Let’s take a quick walk through of what’s happened since the last time!

I feel like I want to buy fewer, but more beautiful and special vintage pieces. I found this green cocktail dress from the 80s secondhand at Lisa Larsson and didn’t want to leave. Maybe it can be my 35th birthday party dress!

My daughter wanted to take a photo of me 🙂 perfect, so I got this thin coat from Gunilla Pontén in the photo. I found it on Vinted, glad I did. Big, funny and a bit noisy.

Today I was checking out fabrics for an exciting upcoming project! I’m having an outfit sewn. My idea is that the clothes should be a kind of light, crisp and firm dupion silk, the kind that has a lot of texture but still shines in itself. I have one more trip to a fabric store before I make a decision, but I’m wary. More about that later!
