Pelicans Nightmare Scenario as a fan favorite suffers injuries while with the national team

One of the biggest fears with which NBA organizations are confronted during the low season is that players representing their country in international game are often serious injury before the NBA season starts. We recently saw Danilo Gallinari almost ending his NBA career after having sustained an ACL injury during the Qualifiers of 2022 Eurobasket.

This fear with which many teams are confronted is now a reality for the New Orleans -Pelikans. During a quarter -final matchup at the America between Argentina and Puerto Rico Pelicans, fan favorite Jose Alvarado left the game on one stretcher after A scary fall in the extension. It seems that Alvarado has sustained a back and potential neck injury.

Jose has become the face of Puerto Rican basketball and even led them to their first Olympic appearance in more than two decades in 2024. He led the score in the match with 25 points and connected 7 of his 15 attempt to three-pointers.

Halfway through the extension of Alvarado for an attacking rebound when he fell backwards and landed awkwardly on his back. Immediately he had a reaction and seemed to be in serious pain.

If Alvarado will miss a considerable amount of time, it can have a huge impact on the Pelicans, because he has been a consistent spark at both ends and is the heart and soul of this team.

This makes it complicated for the pelicans

The Pelicans have tackled the belly depth this season with the additions of Jordan Poole and Jeremiah fears. However, without a clear timetable on Dejounde Murray’s return, New Orleans Alvarado needs early in the 2025-26 season.

I expected Jose to be the first man of the bank to start next season, especially with what Raw looked like during his time in Summer League. Although fears can eventually be a nba-level guard, he still has a lot to learn, and Jose to trust would have helped him in the NBA.

Now of course I am not a doctor and can be Jose in order, but because he is being removed on a piece, my care meter is at a record high.

If he misses a longer period during the 2025-26 season, the pelicans can be in serious problems.

I really hope that everything is going well with Jose and that there are no long -term effects on him. During his time in New Orleans we saw that Jose is not only a great player, but an even better person, so I hope he has a quick recovery.
