On the way to the last phases of the low season, the New Orleans Pelicans have an open schedule. With this last schedule, the pelicans are probably looking for an experienced presence, shooting and someone they can get at the minimum.
Some of the leading candidates are Malcolm Brogdon and Amir Coffey. Both boys bring positional size and versatility, such as Coffey on 6’8 “the two can play via Small Ball Five, and Brogdon at 6’4” can play the one to three in about three guards. Both boys are good floor landers and can be effective in both larger roles and lesser roles.
Both Brogdon and Coffey would immediately make the second unit of the pelicans better, because both boys still have a lot left in the tank and have been in the environments in their career. Especially Brogdon, who is still only a few years away from winning the sixth man of the year and being the 4th or 5th best player in a team that made the final.
Unfortunately, because of how good both are two, their market is probably still full of teams that can offer a better deal than New Orleans.
This disappointing reality means that not getting Brogdon or Coffey means that the pelicans should probably run, but can set their sights on Seth Curry.
The now 34-year-old wing has spent 11 seasons in the NBA and is a career of 43.3% three-point shooter. He still fulfills all the needs of the pelicans with this last schedule as someone who can get them at the minimum is a floor distance and some experience/veteran can be present.
This can be a match made in heaven
Although Seth does not have the CV who has his older brother, he has still carved a truly successful NBA career and plays with a similar playing style like his father, Dell, because both can get warm in an instant. He has always played with a relaxed, secret playing style that helped him healthy most of his career.
During the 2024-25 season he appeared in 68 games and shot an unreal 45.6% of deep in just under three attempts per game. With New Orleans Ranging Bottom Five in three -point shooting last season, Curry could recover that error immediately.
He can also be a great person for Willie Green to support if Jordan Hawkins has difficulty breaking out, because both play with a similar style as three -point specialists. Curry could easily connect and match the pelicans from the first day.
Signing Seth Curry is not the most glamorous move and does not become the front page of a newspaper, but it would still be an incredibly underestimated movement. His level of consistency as a three -point shooter during his career would make him a perfect addition to the bank of the Pelicans.
