There’s something about historic places that fills you with confidence. As soon as we landed in the Nawabs’ city, we began to falter with confidence. The next day would be the final frontier of the Payer India Roadshow as we expected a full house in Hyderabad after the immense success in Pune and Bengaluru.
The evening arrived and to our pleasant shock we received record registrations and ventilation had to be started as there were still people looking for seats. The Park Hotel left no stone unturned and quickly made arrangements to support the increased crowd.
The session started with ours EMCEE Rahul Rakesh greet the audience and then Patrick DeCourcy welcomed them. He was followed by Sanjay Kapoor (GM and Head of Corporate Communication and advertising Business, L&T) who fired up the audience with his session on how he used people power along with digital media to make the Hyderabad Metro Rail Project worthwhile and reliable.
Then it was Patrick who came back to tell us more about it Payer and its offerings, and how one could use it to explore business opportunities around the world. He was followed by Yuval, who captivated the audience and gave them key insights on how to start an international business.
We were already halfway through the session and people were still coming in. It was a mad rush. We ran out of chairs. With an expectation of 300 guests, we were pleasantly surprised when the total exceeded 650! They were willing to learn from the experts instead of going home! Hats off to the audience. They were extremely engaging and loved interacting with our panelists and speakers.
After Yuval’s session we had Sugandha Dubey on stage (founder, SIBSA Digital) who provided key insights into entrepreneurship and also informed aspiring photographers about successful ones ways to make money and leave the battle behind. She was followed by Mohit (Chief of Finance and Global Talent at Crossover Markets) who discussed the various challenges freelancers face and how to overcome them! It was a wonderful educational session.
Finally, we had the panel discussion moderated by Croom Beatty and the participants included Mohit himself, Sugandha, Ramesh Joshi from Coders Trust and Chitraparna Sinha, my good friend and also the brand ambassador for Payoneer in India. They talked about the different issues entrepreneurs face and the audience loved it.
Finally it was time to wrap up the event and announce the lucky winner of the iPad raffle. Yuval took out the card and lo! This time we had a first-hand winner, which was not the case with previous shows.
Rahul thanked the audience for being a great crowd that bored us all the time and was the only reason to make an event a success. We headed to dinner and the networking session. What followed was lots of delicious food, courtesy of The Park, and intense question and answer sessions. Our speakers and panelists were completely inundated with questions.
I suddenly realized that the event and the whole Payer India Roadshow had become a great success. We have brought together talented minds and experts in multiple cities and created opportunities for many. We also learned many new things and will carry with us many wonderful memories of this hectic experience. With this feeling I went back to my room, satisfied and ready to go back to Delhi.
