Patrick Mahomes Sr. arrested again after alleged binge drinking

Patrick Mahomes Sr. is back behind bars after violating the terms of his probation from a 2024 DWI.

Mahomes Sr., the father of NFL star Patrick Mahomes, allegedly drank alcohol in violation of his probation, says District Attorney Jacob Putman told KLTV in Texas.

The 55-year-old former MLBer, who played for the Mets, was booked into the Smith County Jail on Tuesday.

Mahomes Sr. has been placed on probation for five years after pleading guilty to a 2024 DWI.

The district attorney told the local newspaper that Mahomes Sr. is entitled to a hearing to contest the charges, but court records do not show a date for a hearing.

The Chiefs quarterback’s father has been arrested at least three times for drunken driving. according to TMZwith the most recent being the 2024 incident that occurred shortly before Kansas City defeated the 49ers in the Super Bowl that year.

Mahomes Sr. was arrested on February 3, 2024 in Tyler, Texas after being pulled over and registering a BAC of 0.23.

The elder Mahomes said in the episode that watching his son handle his DWI arrest was “the most embarrassing thing I’ve ever experienced in my life.”

“It was during that Super Bowl. It became a story, and so I had to answer questions about it,” Mahomes said in the episode, according to People. “I think knowing that it hurt me woke him up and realized that you can’t keep doing the same things.”

Mahomes Sr. added, “I called him right after and told him, ‘I’m sorry it’s taking away from your time and focus.’”
