Patrick Dorgu offered a glimpse of promise for Manchester United despite their 3-0 defeat by Manchester City.
United States beaten by City
Phil Foden opened the score in the 18th minute and went a cross home from Jeremy Doku, who had passed Luke Shaw before he had picked him in the box.
United still took the break, but City doubled their advantage only a few moments after the restart.
The hosts fully benefited from a pathetic defense of Leny Yoro and Luke Shaw, who ended in Erling Haaland who found the back of the net.
Haaland insured his brace in the 68th minute and broke his own half on a counterattack before he slid the ball cool in the bottom corner over a helpless Altay Bayindir.
The men of Ruben Amorim have won only one of their four Premier League matches, with the newest defeat that leaves them in the 14th place, prior to their coming meeting against an unbeaten Chelsea side.
Several United players just did not show up vs. City, but someone who did that was Dorgu.
Dorgu’s performance
Dorgu tried to make things happen, although not much came loose, especially in the attack. His last ball and decision -making in the last third part still need a lot of work, although he has shown fight and determination.
During the time he was on the field, Dorgu touched the ball 59 times and managed to find his teammates with 19 out of 27 passes he tried (70% pass -hewedness). Three of his steps were important steps.
He aimed seven crosses and found his intended target with four of these.
The Dane shot two shots, but both were off-target and Gianluigi Donnarumma did not really bother. He only completed one of the four dribbles he started.
Dorgu was defensively good. He won nine of the 13 ground matches that he disputed and two of the four air duels for which he competed.
The 20-year-old made four mistakes and placed so many tackles.

Dorgu hopes to build on those positives and help the team finally turn a corner and put together a series of strong performance and results.
