Ella Pashley leads the England squad who travel to Ireland for the home championships this weekend.
It’s been a busy and memorable few weeks for Pashley (pictured above), who made her major tournament debut at the European Championships last month and then recorded two big wins at the WTT Star Contender London before winning the Under-21 National Cup.
She is on the Senior Women’s team, alongside Sienna Jetha, who also played for the Star Contender and is one of only two players to participate in the tournament two years ago.
The other is Isaac Kingham, who moves from the Junior to Senior categories, joining Jakub Piwowar, the third player in the squad to have played at the WTT event at the Copper Box Arena.
The full selection consists of:
- Senior – Isaac Kingham, Jakub Piwowar, Sienna Jetha, Ella Pashley
- Junior – Zac Greenhough, Pablo Ramirez Rioja, Eva Eccles, Rachael Iles
- Cadet – Ryan Goodier, Sinan Suressoy, Alyssa Ngu, Soraya Rahmani-Walentynska
The event at University College Dublin also includes host countries Wales, Scotland, Isle of Man, Guernsey and Jersey.
Jersey’s senior women’s team is led by Hannah Silcock, another who achieved a standout result at the WTT Star Contender London, beating world number 143 Debora Vivarelli of Italy.
At the last Home Countries event two years ago in Bangor, Wales, England won all six team events, as well as a stack of individual medals.
