Tijjani Reijnders scored his first two goals for Manchester City while drawing their preparations for the season with a routine 3-0 win at Serie B Side Palermo.
Reijnders who came to the club at the City before the World Cup club came to the break and should have had a hat trick, but to fall after completing goalkeeper Alfred Gomis in the last minute.
Before the Dutchman entered the fight, it was all about fellow signing of Rayan Cherki, who was refused by the goal line of Salim Diakite after Erling Haaland City wiped a Rico Lewis Pass in the 25th minute.
Chosen to start for Edererson, James Trafford was busy in the first half when City looked shaky at the back, but they pulled clearly after Reijnders had replaced Nico O’Reilly as one of the 10 half -time replacements.

Elsewhere, the preparations for Aston Villa went on for the season with a 3-1 defeat in Marseille. Their last friendly is against Villarreal on Sunday.
Mason Greenwood and John McGinn exchanged goals for the break, before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang came off the couch to get a match-winning brace for the hosts.

Reijnders was on the field for only 45 minutes, but that was more than enough time for him to show his ability to spook in goal positions.
He led all players on the field for Schoten (four), shots on Doel (four), great opportunities (three), touches in the opposition area (seven) and expected goals (1.13 XG).
In the meantime, Cherki poured the most touches (70), successful passes (51/61) and passes in the last third (29) of each player on the field.
