Mike Hesson spoke to the media prior to Pakistan’s opener and said that they were concentrating on improving as a team and looking forward to the match against India. He said:
“We know that India is very confident and rightly so. We are almost focused on improving as a team. We are well aware of the challenge and look forward to it.”
Hesson also gave a warning to India and said they have a stacked batting and bowling unit. He went out:
“And Salman Ali has hardly bent, and he is also the test spinner for Pakistan. So we have a lot of spin -bowling options, if we think the circumstances fit. If we don’t, we also have five sailors who allow us to go for aerial speed or change of pace or reverse swing, depending on the surface.”

Being honest about your assessment of players is important – Mike Hesson
During the press conference, Mike Hesson was interviewed about Babar Azam and the weaknesses of Mohammad Rizwan in T20s. In response, Hesson said that being brutal to the players is very important. He explained:
“Being honest about your assessment of players is important, and from a place without an agenda is also important. I have not spoken about someone’s weaknesses. What I have referred is the way in which the modern game is played, and the strike rate that is required in the Powerplay is very different from the past, especially in good circumstances.”
We played Rashid, Noor on a surface that spun – Mike Hesson
Hesson was also asked about the battle of Pakistani batters when reading spin -bowling from the hands of Spinners. The Pakistani main coach concluded the assessment and said that the batters played brilliantly against Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad in the recent games in the VAE, where the throws were spinning.
“I don’t know where this question comes from or who makes this assessment. We played Rashid, Noor on a surface that we have spun to score 70 points more than they do.”
Pakistan in particular won the recent final of the Tri series against Afghanistan with a huge margin of 75 points. They placed 141/8 on the board before bundling Afghanistan for 66.
