After a red -hot month of August for the San Diego Padres, the calendar that changes in September already brought accidentally.
During the loss of 4-3 on Monday before the Baltimore Orioles, San Diego Relief-Werder Jason Adam went down with a contactless injury. Adam remained down and was eventually plagued off the field.
It seemed that the injury was serious and its severity has now been announced.
Padres Manager Mike Shildt announced After the game, Adam was diagnosed with a torn quad tendon. Adam is planned to continue testing, but the fear is that he will be out for the rest of the season.
It is a brutal blow to San Diego, because Adam has been one of the best relievers, not only in the Bullpen van Padres, but this season in all baseball.
Adam has thrown an ERA of 1.91 with 70 strikeouts in 65 1/3 innings. He was rightly selected for his first All-Star match in July and was well on his way to the best full season of his career.
If there is a silver lining for the Padres, it would be that they have acquired the flame-throwing Mason Miller at the Trade Deadline, and he can play the role in which Adam served.
Regardless of Miller’s skills, it is an unfortunate injury to a San Diego team that tries to catch the Los Angeles Dodgers and win the National League West for the first time since 2006.
