Aiden Markramwho leads South Africa in their two-test series against Pakistan, Pakistan has delivered an open challenge quite subtly to use as much home advantage as they would like. South Africa is planned to compete against Pakistan in an all-format series, which will start on October 12.
Markram, who led South Africa ‘in the absence of regular skipper Temba Bavuma, welcomed Pakistan to use home conditions in their favor.
“If it’s your home game, you can prepare almost every pitch you want. So there are absolutely no question markets on my part. If you want to use home advantage to help your team win a game of cricket, you should be able to do this,” Markram said, as quoted by Cricbuzz.
He also gave a good idea about the decks on which the South Africans practiced in the High Performance Center in Pretoria. According to Markram, the Groundstaff has done its best to make the fields as Pakistan-like as possible if they tried to simulate players what could be offered possible.
“There are three pitches that run quite a bit. Two out of three are really exaggerated. The one in between still offers a sharp spider but is a little easier to catch on. And then we have one strip in the middle that is quite normal. Boxes,” he added.
The top order fittings said that he was not too worried about the fields in Pakistan, because if they show extreme behavior such as during the three-match series against England last year, it will also lead to problems for the hosts.
“If it will be extreme as it was in the English series, it will be difficult for both teams from a starting point. We just have to be happy with what we have, what the circumstances look like, to support who it is to do the job. I am not too busy,” Concluded Markram.
South Africa Will take on Namibia for a one -time T20i before he goes to Pakistan. They still have to announce their squadrons for the T20i and ODI legs of the Multi-Format series against Pakistan.
