The fruits of Joe Pace’s newest new -Zeeland Shopping Spree will be shown on Saturday evening in Melton.
The Harkness-based rider, who only trained full-time training nine years ago, has had great success with Kiwi import such as Supreme Dominator, Rock N Roll Chapel, together with the current pair of Harry Stamper and Justalittlesip.
PACE added three young people from the yearling of Auckland and Christchurch Jaarling last year and two of them – the exciting lively dream (Downby theseaside) and not -gambling point laid down (Bettor’s pleasure) – Tackle the feature race, The Sapling Stakes, on Melton on Saturday night.
Based on the breathtaking last-first debut profit of Vivid Dream, one of the most important players will be one of the most important players last Friday.
“He is the most advanced, natural two -year -old of the three that we certainly bought,” said Pace.
‘Don’t get me wrong, it took time and patience to get him here, but he is now almost a complete package.
“That speed that you saw in Geelong that excited everyone has always been there, but we have spent a lot of time relaxing and using it if we want, not when he wants to.
“That is why he has only arrived at the races so late in the season.
“We have stopped and babbling his speed, but it all came together and Adrian (the son and driver of Pace) said he switched on and off well when he wanted him to want that in Geelong, which was the most pleasant part.
“Adrian is a patient driver and fits him the horse in this early stage of his career. He gave a bit of a heart attack on Geelong when he wanted so long (to make his run), but Adrian said he was shot and she had always covered.
“It’s a step against a few nice, including Letsstartinheaven and Kitzbuhel Delight, this time, but he has the talent to go with them and it’s really just a springboard for him again.
“He will have this run and then out for four to six weeks and we will prepare it for the NSW Derby in Menangle early next year.”
Pace, on the other hand, said that Bettor Punter, a half -brother of the former Star Pacer Ohoka Punter (27 wins and almost $ 1.2 million in prize money), need the experience despite drawing the post.
“He won a Melton test and went well when he was second in a Geelong test when he did a few things wrong in Geelong on Monday evening,” said Pace.
“He will be a beautiful horse, but still green and a work in execution. These early races are educational for him, but I think he will be in the better races halfway to the end of next year,” he said.
PACE thinks in the same way of his third purchase, a son of Megastar Sire Donating.
“He has an engine, but he is huge … about 16.5 hands,” he said. “He wanted to trot early, but I didn’t have that, so we keep working on him slowly and steadily.
“He comes from the family of star horses such as Franco Hattrick and France Enforce and Barry Purdon (Champion Kiwi Trainer) said that the breed will not come together until they are three, so we will give him all the time he needs.”
The stable star of Pace, stylish Trotter Harry Stamper, showed that he was ready for a racing union with a strong Geelong test on Monday evening.
“We gave him a break (de) Brisbane (Inter Dominion) because his campaign derailed with foot problems,” he said. “He is now back on the goal and there is a standing starting race for him in Melton soon (September 27) before we look at the big races again.”
