So it should come as no surprise that this achievement continues to be celebrated. Last year we saw the Lanzante 95-59, a three-seat tribute to F1 based on a new 750S; McLaren used the same basic car to create its own tribute to 1995, with the Le Mans Edition. But a few years earlier, as the quarter-century anniversary was celebrated, McLaren went even more extreme and created something called the Senna GTR LM.
Or rather, it became five, because that is the number of F1s that raced in ’95. Each Senna would be painted like one of the old racers, including chassis and driver details on the carbon tub. Over a ‘standard’ Senna GTR, the LM gained a further 20bhp – for 845 total – and revved slightly higher thanks to ported heads, new valve springs and lighter front holders. They also received a unique exhaust, so they could maximize bragging rights among pure GTR owners.

Like the cars on which they were based, the LM was a track-only proposition, and all five – Harrods, Ueno Clinic, Gulf Racing, Giroix Racing and Société BBA Compétition – were shown to the public for the first time at Le Mans in 2021 and raced on the track. What a sight and sound that must have been. This one has traveled 600 miles since then, so it’s basically fresh out of the box. The incredible paint job, which reportedly took 800 hours to complete, is protected by PPF, those fantastic OZ wheels are unmarked and that, er, signature diffuser doesn’t appear to have been scraped across many top rims.
This Senna LM not only has perhaps the best paint scheme of the five, but is also offered with a new set of rims on wet tires and a GTR-spec spare engine. So there’s every excuse to get out there and experience what a dazzling track car must be. Or have it converted, which is offered as an option. It promises to be utterly extraordinary in every scenario.
It’s not clear exactly what a lightly used McLaren of this caliber will cost, but with standard Sennas still being offered for a million, it will clearly be deep into seven figures. That might deter some from actually exploring its capabilities on a track, although it will likely find a buyer soon enough as perhaps the ultimate modern McLaren collectible. After all, someone has to have the Harrods F1 GTR to sit next to this…
