Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to meet members of the multi-party delegations that were sent to 33 countries as part of the diplomatic outreach of India after the terror attack of Pahalgam and the launch of Operation Sindoor. The meeting will probably take place in New Delhi on 9 or 10 June.
The delegations, consisting of MPs from the entire political spectrum, senior political leaders and seasoned diplomats, were given the task of involving the international community to present the position of India and to get worldwide support for its fight against terrorism.
According to sources, the delegations will give the Prime Minister about important developments in their visits-included meetings at high level, strategic conversations and the answers received from different countries with regard to the Pahalgam attack and the broader counter-terror efforts of India.
In an unprecedented show of two -part unit, the government sent seven delegations abroad. Each was led by a prominent parliamentarian:
Shashi Tharoor (Indian National Congress)
Ravi Shankar Prasad (Bharatiya Janata Party)
Sanjay Kumar Jha (Janata Dal United)
Baijayant Panda (BJP)
Kanimozhi Karunanidhi (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam)
Supriya Sule (Nationalist Congress Party)
Shrikant Eknnath Shinde (Shiv Sena)
Sources said the prime minister would be aware of not only the results of these visits, but also the tone and content of the worldwide answers to India’s message about terrorism, national security and regional stability.
In the meantime, PM MODI will be a meeting of the Council of Ministers on June 4 at 4.30 p.m.The first after India Operation Sindoor launched in retribution of Pahalgam’s terror attack.
