Charles Oliveira does extended his bonus record after the fightmoved up to 21st all-time since joining the UFC in 2010.

Oliveira (36-11, 1NC), a former lightweight champion, hit Matuesz Gamrot in an armbar in the second round of UFC Rio’s main event on Saturday. During the fight, which took place largely on the ground, the Polish KSW alum was willing to challenge ‘Do Bronxs’ (now ‘The Predator’) on the ground, although the approach ultimately backfired.

The win earned Oliveira one of four Performance of the Night bonuses handed out after Saturday’s Fight Night event. No Fight of the Night was announced.

Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone is the next closest fighter to Oliveira in terms of post-fight bonuses, with 18. Oliveira also extended his submission record to 17, and overall finishing record to 21, with Gamrot’s tap.

The future UFC Hall of Famer was joined by Vitor Petrino, Bia Mesquita and Julia Polastri as bonus winners at UFC Rio. Mesquita, a decorated, multi-time BJJ world champion, submitted a rear-naked choke to Irina Alekseeva to emerge victorious in her promotional debut. Polastri, meanwhile, relieved ex-strawweight title challenger Karolina Kowalkiewicz early on the event’s preliminary card.

As for Petrino, he improved to 2-0 as a heavyweight when he knocked out Thomas Petersen in the third round of what had been a fairly competitive fight.

All four bonus winners will take home an additional $50,000 on top of show and prize money, equipment fees, etc.
