For the first time, both television and film personalities will be eligible for the publicly voted New Zealand Screen Award.
Finalists have been announced for the 2025 Screen Personality of the Year category at the New Zealand Screen Awards.
The Screen Personality of the Year Award is the only award entirely determined by the audience and, for the first time, both television and film are eligible.
The finalists for Screen Personality of the Year 2025 are:
Anabela Polata’ivao – Body (The Brown Factory)
Guy Montgomery – Guy Montgomery’s Guy-Mont Spelling Bee (S2) (Three and three now)
Hayley Sproul – Taskmaster New Zealand (S5) (Kevin & Co. / TVNZ 2 & TVNZ+)
JP Foliaki – Treasure Island of Celebrities (WBITVP / TVNZ 2 & TVNZ+)
Laura McGoldrick – Sky sports (Sky New Zealand)
Nadia Lim – Nadia’s farm (WBITVP / Drie & DrieNu)
Nepia Takiura-Mita – Ashikaroa (Kura Productions / Māori & Māori Television+)
Samantha Hayes –ThreeNews (Stuff / Drie & DrieNu)
Scotty Morrison –The messenger (TVNZ 1 & TVNZ+)

Voting closes on Friday, November 14 at 11:59 PM.

In addition, the NZSA will honor exceptional contributions to the screen industry with the esteemed Screen Legend Award, which will be announced in the near future.
The winners of this year’s New Zealand Screen Awards will be announced at a red carpet gala event at the Viaduct Events Center on November 21. The ceremony is hosted by the hilariously talented Pax Assadi.
