NY Rangers Game 20 Open Thread: Rangers vs Detroit

The Rangers continued their nice little run last night with a shootout win in Columbus. Now the Rangers combined a travel day with a game day as they flew back from Columbus to welcome Detroit to MSG, where they look to make it four straight wins and five of their last six. The results match the process, minus one bad game against Tampa, and the Rangers are starting to see the atmosphere shift from doom and gloom to a likely playoff contender.

The Rangers will have to make do without Will Borgen again tonight. Instead of cutting Matthew Robertson, the Rangers recalled Scott Morrow and sent Gabe Perreault back to the AHL to free up roster space. Sending Perreault back to Hartford wasn’t ideal, but it was purely a roster space issue. It will be a dent in the effectiveness of the top six, but hopefully the Rangers have made enough corners to withstand the loss of the rookie forward.
