Nuno Espirito Santo has said that it is ‘almost impossible’ to improve the start of Nottingham Forest until the season after a 3-1 win over Brentford in the city.
Forest raced in a lead of three goals after a sparkling first half, with Chris Wood twice on Target and debutant than Ndoye scored his first goal for the club.
Wood poked a more open at home within five minutes before the side of Nuno, for a quick fire double before half -time, but the hosts in sturdy control.
Ndoye went home the second at 42 minutes after a beautiful Morgan Gibbs-White Cross, before Elliot Anderson screwed through wood with a brilliant pass to just the third.
Igor Thiago gained a goal for Brentford from the penalty spot after the break, but Forest was never the danger of losing the points.
Nuno said full -time with Forest TV and said it would be difficult to improve at the start of his side.
“It was a good start to the game and a good start to the season. I am really happy, I think we played very well.
“The boys were on fire in the way they started the game. We had the first goal to get everything down, then we had the energy of the fans and everything started to flow. It is almost impossible to ask for a better start.
“Just before our second goal, Brentford had a good chance, but for the rest of half we had control over the game, with and without the ball, urgently, controlling the movements of Brentford and their players.
“Now this week we have to recover and work harder and see how the week is progressing for another tough competition last week.
“Today we could not have asked, the city area was loud and bouncing, it was a beautiful day for us.
“Dan (Ndoye) played well today, he was sticking to his defensive tasks, which is always important, but he is so talented and honestly, I think he has much more to give.”
