Novak Djokovic continues to make history.
The 38-year-old Serbian legend won his 101st career title with a 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 win over No. 2 seed Lorenzo Musetti in Athens on Saturday.
Djokovic trails only Jimmy Connors (109) and Roger Federer (103) in career titles. He has won titles in 20 countries.
At 38 years and 5 months, he also became the oldest ATP champion since 1990 with his victory in the ATP 250 event, surpassing Frenchman Gael Monfils, who was 38 years and 4 months when he won the title in Auckland in 2025.
Federer was 38 years and 2 months when he won Basel in 2019.
Djokovic improved to 9-1 against Musetti.
With this latest win, Felix Auger Aliassime qualifies for next week’s ATP Finals in Turin, Italy, while Musetti will end the year at No. 9.
Djokovic has yet to confirm his presence at the event, but has qualified.
After it was announced that the Serbian legend would play at the year-end event, Djokovic put the brakes on the story.
“I don’t know where he got that information from.” said Djokovic in Greece. “Absolutely not from me or my team. I will decide at the end of this tournament.”
“He” in this case refers to the head of the Italian Tennis Federation, Angelo Binaghi.
“We have confirmation that Djokovic will be in Turin,” Binaghi told Italian radio station Rai Gr Parlamento on Monday. via The Independent.
