According to the latest report in the Telegraph, Rajasthan Royals (RR) are conversations in the last stage with a Top Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise to trade their captain Sanju Samson.
Surprisingly enough, that franchise is not Chennai Super Kings (CSK) because Rajasthan Royals (RR) Sanju Samson is looking for the triple Indian Premier League (IPL) Kampioenen Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
RR Eying Varun Chakravarty for Samson?
Sanju Samson has formally asked for his release from the Rajasthan Royals (RR) because of ‘serious differences’ with team management.

He was preserved by the inaugural IPL champions for INR 18 Crore prior to the MegaVeiling of 2025, but is no longer interested in continuing with the side.
This led RR to look for options to separate with Sanju Samson via trade and now they are about to sign a deal with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
RR KKR said the names of players they want in exchange for Samson, and in the coming days a deal can be reached between the two parties, but it is not about Sunil Narine or Varun Chakravarthy who leaves the knights.
“The royals are looking for a quality pinner, but the issue of KKR trade Sunil Narine or Varun Chakravarthy for Samson does not arise, sources told De Telegraaf,” was the report.

Angerkrish Raghuvanshi or Ramadep Singh, even he exchanged for Samson
According to the same report, there are chances that the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) can trade the young Batting Sensation Angrish Raghuvanshi or explosive all-rounder Ramadeep Singh for the Rajasthan Royals-Engerer.
This is because RR is looking for a strong middle order for the next season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), and if they are unable to get the players they want, an all-cash deal can be closed.
Rajasthan Royals (RR) had a bad outing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 when they finished in ninth position with only four wins in 14 games.
Things did not go their way in the batting or bowling departments, with the only positive is the rise of 14-year-old Batting Sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who set fire to the stage and sealed his place in the playing XI as a more open.
Speaking of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), they also struggled under the captain of Ajinkya Rahane and finished in the eighth position, with only five wins.
The addition of Samson to their team can turn out to be a game changer because they desperately need an Indian Wicketkeeper-Batsman and possibly a new leader. KKR Touw also wants to say in Kumar Sangakkara after saying goodbye to the ways of Chandrakant Pandit.
Why was the RR-CSK deal not extradited for Sanju Samson?
Before KKR came into the picture, there were reports that the Rajasthan Royals (RR) skipper Sanju Samson would be traded on the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
The five-fold champions also showed interest in the Wicketkeeper-Batsman, but were not ready to exchange as Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ravindra Jadeja or Shivam Dub for Sanju Samson.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has never traded players with other franchises and that trend will probably continue.
