-A guarantee -extension of the Nissan -fuel pump has been announced for different models equipped with fuel pumps in the fuel tenses.
However, the warranty of Nissan -fuel pump only applies to Nissan vehicles that are sold as new in California and the states that follow the emission rules of California, called section 177:
California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Washington and Minnesota.
The warranty extension of the California Vehicle emission control applies to these Nissan vehicles.

The extended warranty of the Nissan fuel pump is now seven years or 70,000 miles, depending on what happens first.
The action is not a recall and the expansion of the fuel pump guarantee does not apply to states outside of California and the Section 177 states.
Nissan mentions the fuel pump guarantee extension a “customer satisfaction measure” because the warranty books have not clearly explained that the fuel pump modules were treated under the conditions of the “California Long-Term Emission System defective”.
An owner of Nissan does not have to do anything unless a warning light in the vehicle is activated. It can activate for various reasons, one is the fuel pump in the gas tank.
A Nissan dealer will perform a diagnostic test to determine whether the fuel pump is the cause.
“The duration of the diagnostic evaluation and all necessary repairs can vary, depending on the specific identified problem. Your Nissan dealer offers an upset repair time based on the specific diagnosis for your vehicle.” – Nissan
Ask Nissan about a reimbursement whether you have paid earlier to diagnose and repair the fuel pump in the tank.
The affected Nissan owners must be contacted in September 2025 about the guarantee of the fuel pump.
