The ink is hardly dry for a new deal. Yet it was not long before rumors popped up with regard to a trade in Nick Robertson. One insider has already linked Robertson in a Cap-Clearing movement, one that may give the Toronto Maple Leafs the room to sign unlimited free agent Jack Roslovic.

While Chris Johnston noted that the Leafs were reluctant to move Robertson because of his “age -related benefit”, NHL Insider Elliote Friedman revealed on his 32 Thoughts podcast On August 3, the Pittsburgh Penguins could be a likely landing place for the young winger.

Try to move the Leafs Robertson?

Robertson, 23, recently signed a new contract with the Maple Leafs at $ 1.825 million before he went to a hearing. Both parties wanted to avoid unnecessary drama that would have come from a hearing, but that does not mean that Robertson has a bright future in Toronto.

Leafs’ connection to Roslovic

Reports about how interested the Maple Leafs are in Jack Roslovic are mixed. His name has been connected to the Leafs in the free desk since the first few days, but the attacker still has to sign everywhere. Last season he matched his career high with 22 goals and Friedman said: “I heard that a few more teams are watching him.” Friedman adds that this may have just as much to do with Roslovic who does not like fit that he likes as a lack of serious interest.

If five or six teams are hanging around, it can only mean that the offers are not Roslovic they want. If Toronto is one of the teams who kick tires here, they must know that their limited cap space is not enough to have it signed, even if the Maple Leafs are one of the teams he thinks about.
