The rental of Caldwell is an important step of new Timberwolves and Lynx owners Marc Lore and Alex Rodriguez, who took over full control over those franchises earlier this summer.
“I love the NHL. I enjoyed hockey and I am a big fan of it,” said Caldwell. “But the NBA is just a much larger, worldwide platform. I really believe in Marc and Alex and their vision and what they are trying to do. They try to make Minnesota the best in the classroom.”
Caldwell came to Panthers more than ten years ago
Caldwell joined the Panthers as CCO in 2014 before he was promoted to CEO in 2016.

Caldwell, a former vice -president at Goldman Sachs, an American veteran of the army, and graduated from the American military academy in West Point, obtained MBA and laws from the northwest.
Panthers -owner praises Caldwell for franchise success

In September, the Panthers expanded their operational agreement with Broward County for another five years, so that the team will remain on the Zuid -Florida market until 2033.
Panthers -owner Vincent Viola thanked Caldwell during a recent interview and called his departure ‘bittersweet’.
“There are few opportunities that I would advise him to pursue, but work with Alex Rodriguez and Marc Lore on a global platform such as the NBA is at the top that list,” said Viola.
