NHL trade alert: Elliotte Friedman said Wednesday on Oilers Now with Bob Stauffer that he has no indication that Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson would be willing to waive his movement clause. He says the same about Canucks defenseman Filip Hronek. All trade rumors are moot. Friedman adds that teams would have to make big offers to the Canucks so they would go to Pettersson and ask if he would consider it.

Not with how thin the downtown market is.

And so I think they’re reevaluating that it goes, we don’t have the opportunity to get our hands on players like this very often. We have to try to make something happen. And that is exactly what has changed. And that’s what makes the Canucks think: This value, I think, has exceeded where they thought it was.
