Kypreos: “My first Real Kipper trade board on sportsnet.ca has a Toronto Maple Leaf, (Brandon) Carlo on it. Of course, there is a lot of speculation about what they can do with (Nick) Robertson or (Max) Domi or whoever.
But for me Carlo is still a very attractive piece for other teams.”
Justin Bourne: “Let me read something here. There’s a strong suggestion Toronto – Buffalo, we’re in talks to get Carlo involved in a JJ Peterka trade, then move Carlo to a Carlo for Bowen Byram type trade in the summer. Bowen Byram. Oh, would that have been a nice change of pace here? What happened?”

Kypreos: “Yes, someone got cold feet and pulled on them.”
Sam McKee: “I can imagine Kevyn Adams saying, I can’t trade another young guy.”
Kypreos: “Yes, I can’t confirm or deny that, but someone suggested that maybe even the Leafs weren’t willing to do that.”
McKee: “Yes, interesting.”
Bourne: “It just would have been nice to have a different look, an attacking one…”
Kypreos: “Okay, I’ll tell you what it would have done. It would have eased the pressure on Morgan Rielly, that’s what Byram would have done, right?”
Bourne: “Put it in much better, right? Put it in a…”
Kypreos: “Or, or ultimately, for you, go back to Morgan Rielly and say: buddy, it’s been over ten years, how about a fresh start somewhere else? It just doesn’t work here.”
