“Who else is on our trade board? Well, you can bring in one of the Vancouver Canucks’ pending unrestricted free agents, which we talked about after they sent out a memo last week.
You could talk about some of the Nashville Predators’ vets, including Steven Stamkos and Jonathan Marchessault.
You could talk about the St. Louis Blues and their disastrous season, including captain and center Brayden Schenn. Probably some of their veteran defensemen that they’ve tried to move in recent years that don’t have trade clauses.
And by the way, a brutal season so far for Jordan Binnington, who was pulled from Monday’s game against the Anaheim Ducks after allowing two goals on five shots and had some nice words for coach Jim Montgomery on his way off the ice. Those two have since made up, and according to Montgomery, it is now in the rearview mirror. But it still remains an intriguing situation to watch. Can Jordan Binnington still really be the guy for Team Canada with an .878, save percentage so far this season?

Elsewhere on our trading target board? Look, I think it’s going to be very interesting to see which direction the New York Islanders go this season. I think they want to try to build and support this team, but they will have to make some tough decisions. And the other standard breed of unrestricted free agents we see this time of year are sure to generate some interest.
We still think the Toronto Maple Leafs have some decisions to make on their blueline, specifically that Brandon Carlo will be out for a while. That obviously complicates that trade scenario.”
