Friedman: “Nazem Kadri. I, you know, part of the problem with all the hits that I do, Kyle, is that I, this is bad, and it’s a big criticism of myself, sometimes I can’t remember the things I say. And someone said to me, you went on the air and you said that, and it wasn’t on the pod, I think it was on the Hockey Show with (Matt) Marchese and (Mike) Futa, and you said Kadri can block to Montreal. And I thought, ‘I did that.’ And they say, ‘Yeah, I think you said that.’ I thought, oh, that was stupid, because I don’t think he can go to Montreal without approval. And we’ll see what happens there.

I think one of the things that happened with Kadri is that, you know, Robert Thomas that there is available out there, and perhaps that there are other centers available that people were not aware of. It slowed things down a bit. I think that has been picked up again a bit.

I think Utah is a team where Kadri is also asked. You know, what’s the opportunity here? I don’t know what the situation is with them, but I do know that they have asked about it. You know, I’ve heard from Calgary that their opponents have heard that or other teams have been calling about him that there’s a few ways they want to do this.

They are willing to do as the Brock Nelson type of deal, i.e. first round pick, prospect, or they are willing to do more, which is called a “hockey deal.” Less of a futures deal and more of a young player that the Flames would have control over. I heard they are open to it, but I think it will pick up again.”
