NHL Rumors: Boston Bruins and the Vancouver Canucks

The Boston Bruins are one of the teams looking for defenseman Justin Faulk

James Murphy of RG Media: The Boston Bruins were unable to acquire Rasmus Andersson of the Calgary Flames, but their search for a right-handed defenseman to play in their second duo continues.

A source says the Bruins have been in trade talks with the St. Louis Blues Justin Faulk. Both Don Sweeney and Doug Armstrong are with Team Canada at the Olympics, but the source said the Bruins are one of several teams to have ticked tires on Faulk in the past month. The source adds that Sweeney and Armstrong have talked a lot about Faulk.

Multiple sources have said others who have expressed interest in Faulk include the Montreal Canadiens, Buffalo Sabres, Detroit Red Wings, Dallas Stars and Utah Mammoth.

Elliotte Friedman has reported that the Blues are looking for a package similar to what the Flames got for Andersson: a first-round pick, a conditional second, NHL defenseman Zach Wittewolk and a potential Abram Wiebe. The Flames kept their salaries.
