Kirill Kaprizov And Jesper Wallstedt helped Minnesota extend its winning streak to seven games, while Colorado’s run came in double digits.
* Artemi Panarin, Adam Fox And Mika Zibanejad combined for nine points as the Rangers beat the Browns during the annual NHL Thanksgiving Showdown.

* Saturday’s star-studded 11-game schedule is highlighted by Hockey Night in Canada games in Pittsburgh, Nashville and Los Angeles.

KAPRIZOV HELP WILD WIN SEVENTH ON THE RIGHT, STOP STREAKING AVALANCHE
Kirill Kaprizov (2-0-2) reached the 200 goal milestone and helped the Wild emerge victorious against the Avalanche in a battle between the NHL’s two longest winning streaks heading into American Thanksgiving. Minnesota extended its winning streak to seven games and Colorado’s to 10, which was the first time in franchise history Wild broke an opponent’s double-digit run.

* Kaprizov (201) surpassed Zach Paris (199) for the exclusive possession of the third most goals scored Wild history. Kaprizov (344 GP) also became the fastest Wild player who reaches the milestone of 200 goals and is the best Marian Gaborik (475 GP) and Mikko Koivu (969GP).

* Jesper Wallstedt extended his points streak to nine games (7-0-2) and tied the game Cape Kahkonen (9-0-0 in 2020-21) for the longest run of a Wild starting goaltender. Wallstedt also became the fifth rookie netminder in NHL history to snap an opponent’s double-digit winning streak, after Stuart Skinner (March 9, 2023 with EDM; BOS: 10 GP), Warren Skorodensky (March 27, 1985 with CHI; PHI: 11 GP), Gord McRae (March 31, 1973 with TOR; BOS: 10 GP) and Paul Goedeman (January 14, 1940 with; NYR: 10 GP).

* The Wild improved to 11-1-1 (23 points) in November. Minnesota has posted more points in a calendar month only twice: April 2022 (12-2-2, 26 points) and December 2016 (12-1-1, 25 points).

RANGERS TRIO SHOW IN NHL THANKSGIVING SHOWDOWN
Artemi Panarin (1-3—4), Adam Fox (0-3—3) and Mika Zibanejad (2-0-2) gave the New York fans plenty to be thankful for Rangers scored six goals en route to victory in the NHL Thanksgiving Showdown – the most goals by any one team in the League’s annual contest. In total, New York and Boston combined to score eight goals, matching last year’s event for the most combined by both teams (DAL: 5, COL: 3).

* Panarin recorded his 19th career four-point game against New York and drew the game Jean Ratelle for the second highest in franchise historybehind Rod Gilbert (25). It also marked his third four-point game of 2025-26, the most of any player.

* Fox recorded and surpassed his 15th career three-assist game Wayne Gretzky and Zibanejad for seventh place Rangers history – a list with the top Brian Leetch (37GP). Fox also recorded his 30th multi-assist stint and matched Ron Greschner for the second most among Rangers defenders behind Leetch (70). Note that Greschner was sometimes deployed as a forward during his 16-season tenure with the Rangers.

* Zibanejad (2 in 0:45) scored the fastest two power play goals with a Rangers player since Matt Cullen (0:32 on March 17, 2007). The first of those two goals scored the game winner, putting Zibanejad tied with Leetch (37) for the match. seventh in franchise history.

SCHÄFER, GEEKIE AND KUCHEROV LEAVE THEIR STAMP ON THE CALENDAR

Matthew Schaefer (1-1-2), Morgan Geek (1-0-1) and Nikita Kucherov (0-2-2) each found the scoresheet during the NHL’s 15-game Black Friday slate, adding to their impressive totals this year.

* Schaefer took two of the three into account Islanders matches when New York erased a three-goal deficit to salvage a point against Philadelphia. * Overall, Schaefer tied Bourque (18 in 1967-68) for the second-most points by an 18-year-old blueliner in their first 25 career outings.

* Geekie scored his 18th goal of the season to briefly tie for the League goal lead, and scored his 43rd in 2025 during the regular season. extended his NHL-best total since Jan. 1 (43 in 69 GP) – two ahead of teammate and second David Pastrnak (41 in 68 GP). The 2025 calendar year is the fourth in the past 50 years to have multiple calendar years Browns players with 40 or more goals in the regular season in addition to 2019 (Brad Marchand & Pastrnak), 1982 (Barry Pederson & Rick Middelton) and 1981 (Peter McNab & Middelton).

* Kucherov (31-69-100 in 73 GP), who reached the 100-point mark in a calendar year for the seventh time in his career (regular season and play-offs), assisted on two of the six Lightning goals as his club extended their win streak to six games on November 18, outscoring their opponents 26–9 in that period. Tampa Bay was sixth in the Atlantic Division and four points behind first-place Boston prior to the winning streak, but now owns a three-point lead over second-place Montreal.

* Kucherov (4-11-15 in 8 GP) recorded a points streak of at least eight games for the twentieth time in his career and became the fourth active player to register as many. The others: Connor McDavid (22x), Sydney Crosby (21x) and Alex Ovechkin (20x).

* Chychrun became the first defenseman to score 10 goals this season when he scored the game-winner in Washington’s first multi-goal comeback victory of the season. He also extended his points streak to 10 games and equalized Al Iafraat (1992-93) and Robert Picard (1978-79) for the longest run by a defenseman Capitals history.

CROSBY CONTINUES TO INVESTIGATE MARIO ON HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA

An eleven-game Saturday starts early with the Atlantic Division’s top team, the Lightningvisiting Rangers at 2:00 PM ET on NHL Network and Sportsnet ONE and includes a three-game package on Sportsnet’s Hockey Night in Canada broadcast with intriguing star player matchups including Auston Matthews vs Sidney Crosby (TOR at PIT), Quinn Hughes vs Anze Kopitar (FROM LAK) and Mark Scheifele vs Filip Forsberg (WPG at NSH).

* At 38, Crosby (15-10 – 25 in 23 GP) is once again producing at a point-per-game pace, something he has set an NHL record 20 times in his career. * Another big achievement that Crosby (640-1,072 – 1,712 in 1,375 GP) is approaching this season is his pursuit of Mario Lemieux (690-1,033-1,723 in GP 915) for the Penguinsall-time points record as well as eighth place on the NHL’s all-time points list.

* Crosby has been linked to franchise icon Lemieux throughout his career, with both being the first overall NHL Draft picks Penguinsboth captained the franchise with multiple Stanley Cup victories while earning a trophy case full of individual NHL Awards and both led Team Canada to international championships, something Crosby will look to do again at the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.

* When Pittsburgh selected Crosby first overall in 2005, it was Lemieux, representing the ownership group, who handed Crosby his first Penguins Jersey in the design phase. Crosby would begin his NHL career with Lemieux and his family to adjust to NHL life in a new city, and the two suited up for the Penguins for 26 games in the 2005-2006 season.
