Jesper Wallstedt close the Jets becoming the fourth-youngest goaltender in NHL history with an opening streak of at least eight games.
* Macklin Celebrini posted a multi-point performance, becoming the fifth teenager in the past 40 years to earn 70 or more points in a calendar year.

* Aour Kopitar and the Kings collide with Tim Stutzle and the Senators on Prime Monday night hockey to end a seven-match winning streak.

WALLSTEDT DELIVERS ANOTHER SHUTOUT FOR MINNESOTA IN FIFTH CONSECUTIVE WIN

After four straight wins, including his last two against the division-leading Ducks and Hurricanes, Jesper Wallstedt made 32 saves for his third shutout of the season and became the youngest goaltender in franchise history to have a five-game winning streak. He also helped the Wild (12-7-4, 28 points) earn their fifth win in a row.

* During his eight-game winning streak, Wallstedt has earned shutouts against the reigning Presidents’ Trophy winners (WPG), the current Pacific Division leader (ANA) and a team that fell out of the playoff bracket due to a tiebreaker in 2024-25 (CGY). Four of Wallstedt’s six wins this season have also come against teams currently in a playoff position, with the Minnesota goaltender having allowed just eight total goals in those games.

*Wallstedt does the only goalkeeper to play at least eight games this season and not suffer any regular losses. He set the franchise benchmark for the longest streak of opening points of the season, the best Niklas Backstrom (6-0-1 in 2008-09), becoming the third rookie netminder League-wide with a run of that length in the last 30 years, after Mike Condon (8 GP in 2015-16) and Martin Jones (8 GP in 2013-14).

* Wallstedt and teammate Philip Gustavsson have kept the Wild from being behind by 480 consecutive minutes in regulation until November 7. They became the first team with a series of that length since the Canucks from January 8-24, 2024 (488:43).

MAKAR AND WEDGEWOOD HELP AVALANCHE EXTEND THE WINNING STRIKE TO NINE GAMES
Kale Makar scored the winning goal and Scott Wedgewood made 22 saves to save the Avalanche close the Blackhawks and extend their winning streak to nine games – the longest active streak in the League and the fourth longest in franchise history (tied).

* Makar increased his 2025 total to 29-51-80 (70 GP) and tied Larry Murphy, Brian Leetch And Phil Housley (all with 4) for the sixth most calendar years with the most 80 points by a defenseman (regular season and playoffs combined) behind Paul Coffee (12), Ray Bourque (9), Dennis Potvin (8), Bobby Orr (7) and Al MacInnis (7).

* Wedgewood extended its winning streak to eight games, marking the longest active streak by a goaltender this season. The last netminder to post a longer piece was Edmonton’s Stuart Skinner almost two years ago (12-0-0 from December 22, 2023 – January 27, 2024).

CELEBRINI SCORET GAME WINNER TO LIE SHARKS ABOUT BROWN
Macklin Celebrini (1-1-2) accounted for two of San Jose’s three goals, including scoring the game winner, as the Sharks defeated the Browns to earn their eighth victory of November – equal for the second place of all teams behind only Colorado and Minnesota (both with 9). During the trial, Celebrini succeeded Patrick Marleau (6) for most winning goals by a teenager Sharks history.

* Celebrini recorded his 25th multi-point appearance and needed the third fewest games with a lead of a Sharks skater to reach the mark (93 GP), behind Joe Thornton (54 GP) and Owen Nolan (87GP). The multi-point game brought his 2025 points total to 70 (27-43 – 70 in 65 GP) – the most in a calendar year for a teenager in almost a decade.

THOMPSON HELPS BUFFALO WITH BEST CONFERENCE LEADING HURRICANE
The Sabres came in last place in the Eastern Conference on Sunday, but Take Thompson (1-0-1) and co. helped Buffalo (9-9-4, 22 points) claim victory over the Eastern Conference’s top seed, Carolina (14-6-2, 30 points). In addition, the Sabres moved within three points of a playoff spot, five of No. 1 in the Atlantic Division and six of second place in the conference.

* Thompson capped the win with an empty-netter and extended his goal streak to a career-best six games – tied Jason Robertson (active) and Morgan Geekie for the longest this season.

PRIME MONDAY NIGHT HOCKEY GOES TO HOLLYWOOD TO CLOSE MONDAY’S SLATE

A #NHLStats primer for tonight SenatorsKings game on Prime Monday night hockey to round out the seven-match slate.

* Ottawa plays the third game of its season-high seven-game road trip (2-0-0), the longest tie for any club this season, as it prepares for captain’s return Brady Tkachuk (who announced on his podcast: Wingmenthat he would be back in the US by Thanksgiving).
* Anze Kopitar and the Kings have an 11 game point streak against the Senators that covers more than six years (8-0-3; OTT: 3-7-1) and is one of the longest active head-to-head games in the NHL. Los Angeles has had five point streaks from at least a dozen games against one clubwith the last ending over a decade ago (a franchise record 14 games vs. EDM).

NATIONAL GAMES ON THE RADAR THIS WEEK

Five #NHLStats and storylines to know about other national broadcasts this week:

1. Wild bee Blackhawks on ESPN+ and Hulu (Wednesday): The first Foligno Face-Off in support of the V Foundation and Hockey Fights Cancer will be without injuries Nick Foligno as Marcus Foligno and the Wild look to continue their recent success against the Blackhawks. Minnesota has a point in 16 consecutive meetings with Chicago (15-0-1; CHI: 1-12-3), tied for the NHL’s longest active points streak by one franchise against another and the the longest in the Wild‘s history of 25 seasons. Chicago’s last regular season win was against Minnesota December 15, 2019 (thanks to A Patrick Kane hat trick and three assists Jonathan Toews). That same night, 14 year old Connor Bedard went 1-1-2 with West Van Academy to boost his 2019-20 season totals to 25-27-52 in 23 games, part of a campaign in which he led the Canadian Sport School Hockey League in goals (43) and points (84) en route to securing the league’s MVP award.

2. Maple leaves bee Blue jackets on Sportsnet (Wednesday): Meeting for the second time in a week, Adam Fantilli will try to help Columbus to victory again after scoring 2-1-3, including the Thursday’s extra-time winner. The Ontario native, who played minor hockey in Toronto, has more goals and points against the Maple leaves than any other franchise (6-2 – 8 in 8 GP) – including his first career hat-trick (January 22, 2025) and two of his eight multi-goal games.

3. Jets bee Capitals on Sportsnet (Wednesday): The Capitals will honor Alex Ovechkin for some recent achievements – 900 goals and 1,500 games played – before their match against the Jetsa franchise “The Great Eight” has had memorable moments on its way to becoming the NHL’s all-time leading scorer. His 57 career goals against the Jets/Thrashers is his most against a single franchise, including many milestone figures: Goal No. 50 (vs. ATL), Goal No. 600 (vs. Connor Hellebuyck) And Goal No. 802 (to pass Gordie Howe). Ovechkin has scored 149 goals in November, five of which came in a draw Wayne Gretzky (154) for the most in League history during the month.

4. NHL Thanksgiving Showdown 2025 on TNT and HBO Max (Friday): A matinee between Original Six rivals who share a common thread will be part of a 15-match Black Friday programme. Rangers visit the Browns – with both clubs set to play outdoors in Florida in the new year. New York will post it perfect outdoor record on the line as they visit the Panthers for the 2026 Discover NHL Winter Classic (January 2), as Boston looks for its fifth win outdoors – something that only the Rangers have achieved – during the 2026 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series against the Lightning in Tampa (February 1).

5. Hockey Night in Canada on Sportsnet (Saturday): All six clubs that will be part of Sportsnet’s Hockey Fights Cancer broadcast have deep ties to the cause. Maple leaves forward Dakota Joshua then returned to the game last November fight against testicular cancer and is one HFC Champion; Erik Karlsson and the Penguins visited a cancer center during their trip to Sweden for Global Series and assistant coach Mike Stothers recently spoke about his own struggle. The Canucks hosted Bryce Lambert, a five-year cancer survivorand his family for their HFC night November 8; the Kings will be their host first of three HFC evenings on November 29. The Jets have run a blog with the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, sharing the stories of children affected by the disease, including Sunny, Noah, Josiah And Tristan; And Her in Saros debuted a mask honoring those in the Predators organization who have recently battled cancer.
