The Athletic’s Pierre LeBrun: Colorado Avalanche forward Gabriel Landeskog had skated alone last week, but went to train with teammates on Tuesday. It was the first time since Jan. 4 that he hit the boards heavily and suffered an upper-body injury. Coach Jared Bednar:
“For Gabe, of course, we really hope he can come back and be part of the Olympics, and it seems like he’s moving in that direction.”
Bednar did not rule out Landeskog playing a game with the Avs before the Olympic break.

Philadelphia Flyers: Goaltender Dan Vladar has been activated from the IR, and goaltender Alexey Kolosov was loaned to Lehigh Valley of the AHL.
Craig Merz: Flyers defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen left last night’s game in the first period after two shifts with a lower-body injury. There was no post-game update.
The Athletic’s Pierre LeBrun: Tampa Bay Lightning Ahead Brayden Point is still hopeful they can play for Team Canada in the Olympics, but it’s not 100 percent yet. He has been out since January 12 with a right knee injury. He is making progress and the coaching staff would like to see if he can get into a game with the Lightning before halftime.
NHL: Lightning defender Victor Hedman has not ruled out playing in Sunday’s Stadium Series game against the Boston Bruins. He practiced with the team yesterday for the first time since returning to IR on December 11 in a non-contact jersey.

“Progress,” coach Jon Cooper said. “You know he is still in the red jersey. This is the first time he is participating with the full group, so those are the small steps you have to take. But he is definitely getting closer.”
Defenseman McDonagh is expected to return to the lineup tonight. He’s been out since December 22nd.

NHL: Canucks goalie Thatcher Demko will undergo hip surgery and will be out for the remainder of the season. He is expected to be ready for the start of training camp in September next year.
