Ryan Boulding: Colorado Avalanche defenseman Devon Toews returned to the lineup after missing the past 13 games with an upper-body injury.

Jameson Olive: Florida Panthers forwards Brad Marchand and Anton Lundell missed last night’s game. Coach Paul Maurice said there is a chance they will play later this week.

  • George Richards: Lundell skated in a non-contact jersey yesterday, Marchand did not skate and Jonah Gadjovich wore a regular jersey.

Jesse Pierce: Minnesota Wild forward Marcus Foligno missed last night’s game due to illness.

Wild defenseman Daemon Hunt left last night’s game in the first period after taking a puck in the throat area. Coach Jon Hynes said after the game that he is doing well and doesn’t think he will ever miss.

Amanda Stein: New Jersey Devils forward Jack Hughes skated alone after practice. (He left Saturday’s game in the first period)

Mike Morreale: Devils coach Sheldon Keefe on Hughes: “The fact that he (skated) after (practice) is obviously more indicative that he and the medical team are happy with how his physical went all day. I haven’t gotten an estimate on what that means. Whether he’s available tomorrow, that’s still up in the air.”

Siobhan Nolan: Philadelphia Flyers coach Rick Tocchet said goaltender Samuel Ersson is out day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

Joshua Wise: Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly was not on the ice for practice yesterday, missed last night’s game and will miss their final game before the Olympic break. He’s still with the team. Coach Craig Berube had no timeline.

Mat Kom: Vancouver Canucks forward Filip Chytil left last night’s game in the second period with an undisclosed injury. Coach Adam Foote: “They just told me he made a change. We’re going to evaluate it, we should know more tomorrow.”

Sammi Silver: Washington Capitals goalie Logan Thompson missed last night’s game. It’s listed as daily and is “very close.”

Daily confrontation: Capitals goaltender Charlie Lindgren is out during the Olympic break. It’s not for the long term.
