Keith Keogh wanted to continue his seismic rise in the US Cage warriors featherweight division against Gabriel Ramos.
In the opening minute of the round, Keogh got to grips with his opponent, but Ramos did well with threatening submissions to keep the fight going. The fight moved quickly, with the Irishman dangerously chasing the Brazilian. A brilliant first round saw both the striking and wrestling skills of both the men’s elite on display in a very even affair throughout the first 5 minutes.
Round 2 kept the same pace as both men threw aggressively with a series of kicks and punches. The volume from both men was astonishing, but neither man could get off an effective combination and there were many unique shots. A low blow from Keogh temporarily ended the action. As the round progressed, Ramos seemingly began to wither under the constant pressure from Keith Keogh; the bodywork had been excellent so far. A poor takedown attempt from the Brazilian spurred the Irish crowd on in the final moments of the second round.
Keogh beckoned Ramos to his feet for the start of lap 3 as he started super aggressively. The arena sensed a finish for their fighter and roared him forward. Every shot from Keogh seemed to lift the roof off the RDS Arena in this final round. After sustained pressure, Ramos eventually collapsed and Keogh took a well-deserved victory.
Keith Keogh gets the TKO at 2:16 of round 3.
