NEXA Lending appoints Von Maharaj as CFO

“Von’s deep experience in both finance and mortgage operations makes him ideal for NEXA’s next chapter,” said Mike Kortas, CEO of NEXA Lending. “He understands how to build systems that scale, maintain discipline through growth and ensure every decision aligns with our mission to strengthen loan officers and teams across the country.”

Maharaj said his role is to help NEXA “continue to expand” while “keeping costs optimized.”

“Von brings a refreshing mix of precision and perspective,” said Mortensen. “He understands that numbers tell a story, but it’s the people behind those numbers that give them meaning. That mentality fits perfectly with NEXA’s culture.”

“Growth and efficiency must go hand in hand,” he said. “It’s about building a clean, sustainable foundation for the future. This C-suite is moving fast, collaborative and laser-focused,” he added. “Everyone brings great energy and genuine enthusiasm for the same goal: to help NEXA reach new heights through technology, innovation and shared leadership.”

Maharaj’s appointment to NEXA’s executive team is the latest in a number of key hires the Arizona-based company has made this year. Most recently, NEXA promoted Rana Mortensen to Chief Administrative Officer.

NEXA also hired Tammy Richards as Chief Strategy Officer in October, prior to appointing Jason DuPont as Chief Operating Officer and Geri Farr as Chief Growth Officer.

DuPont said Maharaj’s insight “completely complements” NEXA’s leadership table, and Farr added that his leadership brings “confidence and clarity” to the team.

“Von’s arrival completes a leadership team built on experience, innovation and…
alignment,” Richards said.
