Newcastle United will receive a fee from the FIFA Club Protection Program for Yoane Wissa.
This is an insurance schedule that covers players who are injured during the international service.
Yoane Wissa picked up a knee injury on September 9, 2025 when he played for Dr. Congo and was immersed in a 3-2 World Cup qualifying-class, the deceased winner of Senegal who handled a huge blow for the opportunities of Dr. Congo to reach the 2026 World Cup final.
It was of course a huge blow to Newcastle United, because it had only just spent serious money on the Premier League -Oral Goalkeeper.
The e -mail report that Newcastle United has now applied for FIFA to activate the compensation through the club protection program.
There is a surplus period in the insurance scheme where nothing is paid for the first 28 days of the TDD (temporary total invalidation).
The insurance money is then paid by FIFA to cover the player’s wage until he is available to play for his club again. In the case of Yoane Wissa, the wage should be covered from approximately 7 October 2025 until the striker lets his first team play (and NUFC debut!).
Extracts below from the official FIFA club protection program.
As you can see below, the insurance for every day is due to the player, the player is not available, but with an upper limit of € 20,548 per day, that is around £ 18,000.
That is about the full cover of the wages of a player who earns up to £ 126,000 a week, which most, perhaps all, should cover the wages of Wissa.
Hopefully Newcastle United does not need any compensation without Yoane Wissa …
