Newcastle United perspective on Saturday’s Premier League matches

4 minutes, 19 seconds Read

Looking at these Premier League matches on Saturday in this round.

Watch the other matches from Newcastle United’s perspective.

Eddie Howe and his players kick off for their Sunday match away at Brentford at 2pm.

This weekend there are five Premier League matches today (Saturday, November 8) and five (including NUFCs) on Sunday.

As a Newcastle United fan, take a look at the other Premier League matches today (Saturday) and think about what you would like to happen and what is likely in terms of results.

Saturday November 8

Spurs v Man U (12.30)

Everton vs Fulham (3 p.m.)

West Ham v Burnley (3 p.m.)

Sunderland v Arsenal (5.30pm)

Chelsea v Wolves (8 p.m.)

Sunday November 9

Villa vs Bournemouth (2pm)

Brentford v Newcastle (2 p.m.)

Palace vs Brighton (2 p.m.)

Forest v Leeds (2pm)

Man City v Liverpool (4.30pm)

Here’s what the table looks like on Saturday morning (8 November 2025) before any of this weekend’s ten Premier League matches are played:

My conclusions and predictions for Saturday’s matches

Spurs vs Man U

Two much hyped but very average teams. Anything can happen here.

The media raved about Spurs when they beat Copenhagen in midweek and quickly forgot how weak they had been, losing at home to Chelsea last weekend and United before that comfortably beating them 2-0 at St James’ Park in the League Cup.

Man U have been extremely lucky to win three times in a row in the Premier League and that luck continued when Forest were threatened with relegation by the great luck of a draw last time.

I think a draw is most likely and it could be a high score.

Everton vs Fulham (3 p.m.)

Is it just me, or does it feel like these two clubs are playing each other pretty much every week in the Premier League? You know, the kind of competition where you think who would tune in to watch this? That’s largely why it has remained as a 3pm, non-televised (legal in the UK) match.

Watched the Mackem v Scouse Mackems derby on Monday evening. The quality was pretty poor overall.

Everton should have won the game easily at half-time but were only 1-0 up and conceded immediately after the break and were sad, but were fortunate to draw in the end.

They may have a new stadium, but the Scouse Mackems remain very limited on the pitch and virtually invisible.

In my opinion, Fulham have a much better team and are also capable of playing attractive football. They had lost four games until they won 3-0 against a 10-man Wolves team, but I don’t think they played as the results suggest. They only lost 1-0 to Arsenal and handed United a match when they lost 2-1 at St James’ Park. Looking at the last three PL games I don’t see Fulham losing today. My money is on any away win, even if Everton could tolerate a low-scoring draw.

West Ham v Burnley (3 p.m.)

Another match where the fact that it was not selected by the broadcasters remains.

Newcastle put in their worst performance for a long time and West Ham working hard was enough to win the match, along with some quality touches from Paqueta and Bowen, and Newcastle suffered some bad luck on top of their poor performance.

Burnley lost to Arsenal last time, but before that they had won at home against Leeds and away at Wolves.

I think there’s a draw here, but I wouldn’t be shocked if Burnley turn up and win.

Sunderland v Arsenal (5.30pm)

Sunderland are another team who have been very lucky so far this season and could have lost 4-0 to a poor Everton team on Monday night.

Against a clinical Arsenal side who haven’t conceded a Premier League goal since St James’ Park on September 28, 2025 and who have scored in 15 of their 16 games in all competitions this season, I can only see one result.

Hopefully Arsenal get a goal early and win by at least three or four. That’s what I’d like to see happen AND how I see it happening later today.

Chelsea v Wolves (8 p.m.)

Just like Man U and Spurs, Chelsea is so overhyped.

They have some good players, they have a lot of players, they have spent huge fortunes, but Chelsea are no better than good, even though they are often less than that.

Chelsea were lucky to draw against Qarabag in midweek and have lost in two of their last three home Premier League games to both Sunderland and Brighton.

Wolves have some good players, but so far they find all kinds of ways to lose. It looks like Rob Edwards is set to leave Boro to take the job and perhaps the Wolves players might get something here as they look to impress the new manager. I wouldn’t bet any money on it, but Chelsea are just as capable of winning this as they are of winning 4-0. Just over a month ago, Wolves led until very late on against Spurs and Brighton before having to settle for a draw in back-to-back games, so it’s not impossible they could do something similar tonight.
