Now I don’t want anyone to think it’s all roses and sweetness at the NUFC women’s side of the house. The move to Gateshead International Stadium did not go well and many are upset about the seemingly ‘own goal’. More because it fell without warning than the actual movement.
However, I think that when the dust arranges that problem, the fans will buy in it and the Lasses side of things will continue to grow and get Momentum. What will certainly help is the recruitment that has certainly taken place so far.
While the men continue to be frustrated to let players improve the team and build on the success of last season, the welding continues to build their team prior to a promotion -Push 2025/26.
And although in no way shape or form is respectful for those who have left or who may not be guaranteed first team football, every signing seems to have improved the options of Becky Langley. Well, at least on paper anyway!
The newest addition is very much the type of player that many of us thought we would land. An international quality player from abroad. Welcome then Malgorzata ‘Gosia’ Greek To the tone!
A full Polish international has played for her country 13 times so far, she has arrived from the highly valued premiere Ligue French Division where she has played the last three seasons.
Before that she was in St. St. in the Ofb Frauen Bundesliga in Austria after leaving her native country and Gornik Leczna, where she played three seasons before she started her journey that now brought her to Tyneside and NUFC women.
On 6-foot, she seems to be a commander and authoritative center that is also comfortable with the ball on her feet. A very exciting signature indeed and a what the fan base is already looking forward to.
Becky Laney had this to say about her latest recruit, the 5one Signing a very productive and successful summer to date.
“Gosia joins the back of three successful years and plays in the top flight of French football, and we are pleased to be on board.”
“She has a large physical presence in both boxes, she has a brilliant passing reach and is technically gifted. We are pleased to welcome her in the group and work with her.”
‘Gosia’ itself is pleased to have put pen on paper and to become a member of the NUFC Women’s Program and Project, says.
“I am very excited to be part of this big club, and that is such a pleasure for me, and I can’t wait for our first game.”
“Once I heard about the project here, it was great, and all people here are very ambitious, so the choice was very clear to me. Our goals are very clear here to come to the WSL.”
The newest recruit may have to wait a season before she gets the chance to play in the WSL and test herself against the best and strongest of the nation, but she gets a chance to play against WSL opposition in the League Cup this season.
United is signed in a very attractive Northern group A of the competition alongside colleague WSL2 Side Nottingham Forest and top flight WSL opposition Everton with whom they pulled 1 – 1 in the competition of last season and powerhouse Manchester City.
