Newcastle is desperate to signing sessions and has only made one this summer. Fortunately, number two seems to be on the road, despite a number of setbacks in recent weeks.
From the expected departure of Alexander Isak, Newcastle wants to sign a new striker to compete for the starting point. And after they have missed Joao Pedro and Hugo Ekitike in recent weeks, they have drawn their attention to Yoane Wissa.
In contrast to the earlier goals of the club, Wissa is desperate to become a member of Newcastle, and during the weekend he went into strike in the hope of forcing a movement. For now, Brentford has not given up, although it is expected that they will do that.
Yoane Wissa has a strong chance of completing Newcastle Move
According to Soccer sinsiderMick Brown has revealed that Newcastle is expected to close a deal for Wissa in the coming weeks, now that Brentford’s hand has been forced.
“I expect that they will reach an agreement at some point. He has made it clear that he wants to leave, he told Brentford that and he refuses to train, so Brentford has to decide whether they want an unfortunate player at the club. In most cases, in that situation, the club decides to let it go. So then it is a case of the best deal and the most money they can get for him.
“I think Bryan Mbeumo played it perfectly, because if that movement didn’t happen, he could have stayed in Brentford without problems with the club or fans.
“At the moment, Newcastle does not want to pay what Brentford asks for. I think that price tag will come in the window later and Newcastle might have to go up a bit so that they can meet each other in the middle.
“So at this stage there is no agreement, but he who forces the move makes a huge difference. Now it will be in Newcastle’s hands because it is how much they are willing to pay.”
Wissa, who scored 19 goals in the Premier League last season, would be an excellent addiction for Newcastle, but for now it is still to see whether they can get a deal with Brentford.
