Hockey New -Zeeland is proud to announce the Vantage Black Sticks Women’s Squad that has been selected for the 2025 Oceania Cup, which takes place in Darwin, Australia, from 4-7 September 2025. The event is hosted in the MWT Hockey Center.
The Oceania Cup is more than just bragging regional, it delivers automatic qualification to the 2026 FIH Women’s World Cup for the winner. With only one place that is offered, both teams will bring their best in this Trans-Tasman classic. For the losing team, an extra qualifying tournament will be held in February 2026 (location TBC). This qualification tournament is the last chance to win a place at the FIH Ladies World Cup 2026.
The format of Oceania Cup has a high-stakes best-of-three test match series between New Zealand and Australia. The games are planned as follows:
Game 1 – 4 September 10.30 am NZT
Game 2 – 6 September 4.30 pm NZT
Game 3 – 7 September 4.30 pm NZT
All competitions become live streamed and available for free to watch on TVNZ+.
