New York | Swiateek sweeps Alexandrova aside, Anisimova then again …

Iga Swiatek wasted little time to see a potential threat of 13th Ekaterina Alexandrova on the US Open on Monday, maintained her intensity and focus to see the Russian, 6-3 6-1, and to reach the quarterfinales, where she will meet Amanda Anisimova of the Wimbled-Match from the Rekefinal of Match. A few short weeks ago.

Now I like them all. The clay season has always been my favorite, but people make it quite difficult for me with the pressure around. Sometimes it is just easier to enjoy the surfaces where it is harder to play, but you have more freedom to make mistakes and accept them. Every month is different. I can play on any surface if I feel good in my game and in my head. I feel confident. I will try to play well all year round. Iga świątek

Swiatek, who won the US Open in 2022 and added Wimbledon to her growing count of 6 Grand Slam titles, hardly broke a sweat when she merged Alexandrova methodically in just 64 minutes.

The crushing victory of the 24-year-old post at Louis Armstrong Stadium meant that she became the youngest woman who at least reached the quarterfinals of all 4 Grand Slams in one season since 18-year-old Maria Sharapova managed the performance in 2005.

After her victory, Swiatek tapped her phone furiously while she waited for her interview on the field and explained that she sent a message to her coach, Wim Fissette.

“I asked him to book 10 minutes, if possible for 10 minutes,” said the world no. 2 with a smile before adding what had worked well to help her reach her 13th big quarter final. “I would say the intensity and focus.

“In the beginning I felt that she was playing quickly and the court is different. I wanted to find my rhythm afterwards … and I was in my bubble. I forced the ball to go inside. I am happy with the quality.”

Swiatek was made to work hard against another Russian, Anna Kalinskaya, on Saturday in the 3rd round, who had raced in a 5-1 first lead before she lost straight sets.

Monday’s assignment against Alexandrova, however, turned out to be much easier after Swiatek arrived at Armstrong, laser -oriented from the start, despite the fact that the static stat of the Russian states was even cleaner than the post that comes in the game, only lost 10 games and did not need sets to the last 16 and needed only 3 hours and 11 minutes.

Alexandrova also enjoyed some Hard Court success against Swiateek, after he had won in 2024 in Miami in Miami and the Gippsland trophy of Melbourne in 2021, but the post gave a 4-2 lead in their head-to-head record.

From the start it looked difficult for the 30-year-old Alexandrova, because she was broken in the very first game, but then immediately broke back into the second.

Alexandrova arranges No. 4 in the WTA Ace Race, which so far 253 inshalators, which most of each female player was in the draw, while Swiatek struggled in the first set against Kalinskaya, with her first service sinking to 37%.

However, the pole seems to have put that behind her and, after having broken Alexandrova again, she consolidated the break to love, throwing in 2 aces on the way.

Although they had exchanged pauses from Serve to open the first set, Swiatek broke for a 4-3 lead and held on to 5-3, that was when Alexandrova gave a breaking point in the 9th game with double errors.

Swiatek came across the chance to land the first set after just 30 minutes and went through the gears to complete the victory in the second, with Alexandrova being broken twice before he served the game.

The way of winning again proved that Swiateek is an excellent leader and reminded her fans why she was able to spend 125 weeks of her career as the world No. 1.

By the time she had taken a 4-1 lead in the second set, Swiatek had hit 18 winners to the 11 of Alexandrova and won 100% of her points on the net, a stunning 5 of 5, in a clean and clinical version.

While 4 of the 6 Grand Slam titles from Swiateek have come open on the clay of the French open in Roland Garros, Monday’s win shows that she is now just as comfortable on the faster surfaces.

“Now I like them,” she said. “The clay season has always been my favorite, but people make it quite difficult for me with the pressure around.

“Sometimes it is just easier to enjoy the surfaces where it is harder to play, but you have more freedom to make mistakes and accept them.

“Every month is different. I can play on any surface if I feel good in my game, and in my head. I feel confident. I will try to play well all year round.”

The next opponent of Swiateek was dependent on the result of the night match between the 8th placed American, Amanda Anisimova, who she hit 6-0 6-0 in this year’s Wimbledon final, or Brazilian 18th seed, Beatriz Haddad Maia.

In her interview after the game, when he was asked about the tendency of top athletes not to show grace on the way to winning, Swiatek replied: “I think most of us grew up that way. If you want to become an athlete, you have to win the point.

“To be honest, I think every athlete, kind of the same vision and mentality, has, but of course because of the score at Wimbledon everyone started to ask this question.

“If you don’t save, you don’t get it, but if you do that, you know that you will not give anything for free.”

In the night session on Monday at Arthur Ashe Stadium, it was Anisimova who reached the US Open quarter finals to prevent Swiatek, after beating Beatriz Haddad Maia, 6-0 6-3, in 75 minutes.

Anisimova Brak Haddad Maia in the first match and maintained her momentum during the game, where the Brazilian could only score 10 points in the opening set, in which she was broken twice when the American made 77% of her first portions.

The late summer of the 24-year-old is a mixed bag, but since she arrives in New York, she has been on a role.

“It was so great to be back at this court,” said Anisimova, who made 27 winners of Haddad Maia’s 5. “It is a few years ago that I played here, and it is an incredible atmosphere.”

Since Anisimova was in the final of Wimbledon by Swiatek with Double Bagelled by Swiateek, it has been a tough ride and so far she scored only 2 winning in 2 tournaments while struggling with the aftermath of disappointment, so far.

She had few problems with the left -handed Haddad Maia, after producing a quick start that was shocked by the Brazilian and was restless, broke her in the first game and accelerated from there.

She never gave Haddad Maia a chance, served well and smashed pin-point and deep backhand with two hands around the field to deliver an impressive New York bagel from her own.

The second set was more competitive, in which Anisimova was challenged in her search to expand her best US Open show of her career.

“It is the round of 16, and there will be nerves, especially against Bia who is such a tough opponent,” said Anisimova, who converted 6 of her 18 breaking point opportunities. “You really have to stay mentally strong.”

While Haddad Maia was broken again to start the second set, she then gathered her own break, after losing 7 straight matches, but Anisimova broke her back immediately, and despite the grit of the Brazilian, her broke her again in the last game to continue to the finish line.

“Once I came out here … I like to play on big stages,” said Anisimova. “I played so free here. I just really enjoyed it and I am really happy that I was able to do a good performance today.”

Anisimova, who also went on to the semi-final in Roland Garros in 2019, ran her Grand Slam record to 42-22 with her victory over Haddad Maia, and improved her career-best season point to 35-14.

Her reward is confronted with the No 2-Seded Swiateek in the quarterfinals in their second meeting.

“Who thought we would meet so quickly,” said Anisimova. “In this phase of the game you will still play a really tough opponent. So to be able to have a rematch, or to face her again and to give myself a chance, I am really happy with that.

“I feel it will be a very tough challenge, but I feel that I have played well. I am sure it will be a great match, and I hope I can do a good performance.”

Anisimova had produced her best Grand Slam result by disturbing the world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in the semi-final of Wimbledon, only for freezing on the big stage in the final.

“I don’t think it did not help me a better player in any way,” Anisimova continued. “It was in no way a good performance. I feel that I may have learned a few things from it, and some things that I can do differently, but especially I think it was just a learning experience.

“From that bounced back, actually a bit difficult, because that never happened to me before. But I worked through it and the hard court season started strong for me. So I have the feeling that I have moved from there at the moment.”

In the meantime, Swiatek has maintained her form of Wimbledon and only lost 1 of her last 19 games.
