The Canucks want to change their mix and listen to all veterans, not just the UFAs, and that could mean Hronek is in play. However, Hronek has a no-movement policy and has a say in where he wants to go. Now the Canucks aren’t open to trading him or Quinn Hughesbut, as Rosner writes, if the right team came calling, Vancouver would have to think about it.
The biggest question is the cost of the player for the Islanders. We know the Canucks signed him from Detroit for the Islanders’ 2023 first-round pick and Vancouver’s 2023 second-round pick. Could something like a first, a third and another piece get it done if Hronek wanted to go to the island?
