Hockey New -Zeeland is pleased to announce the Vantage Black Sticks Men’s Squad, selected for the Long -awaited 2025 Men’s Oceania Cup in Darwin, Australia, which runs from 4-7 September in the MWT Hockey Center.
The 13th edition of the Oceania Cup will be a classic confrontation between New Zealand and Australia, designed as a best-of-three test match series to determine the automatic qualification for the Fih Hockey World Cup 2026. However, there is a small turn … The Vantage Black Sticks men’s team has already protected their world cup place thanks to the earlier qualification of Australia via the FIH Pro League, which means that new -Zeeland will move forward, regardless of the competition results.
Nevertheless, this series promises high intensity and fierce rivalry with trans-tasman bragging on the line. Motivation is still extremely high with the possibility to take the Kookaburras in their own backyard and to claim the victory over one of the powerhouses of World Hockey. The three games are planned as follows:
