While some start decorating for Christmas as early as early November, others wait until a few days before the baptism itself. This year, many people started listening to Christmas books as early as October, according to a new study by the book app Nextory.
This year, Swedes started listening and reading Christmas-themed books as early as October 28, which is over a month earlier than just two years ago. ELLE lists ten popular Christmas books to listen to to get into the Christmas spirit.
New reading trend: Christmas books already in October
This is evident from the latest research by audiobook service Nextory Julboxindex there is a clear new reading trend, especially among families with children, where many started listening to Christmas books as early as late October – unlike five years ago, when listening to Christmas books only really started in December.
At the same time, you can see how Christmas-themed books are now among the ten most listened to books on Nextory.
– We usually only start marketing Christmas books in the app later in November. Now we clearly see that Christmas starts much earlier for our readers and listeners. It is noticeable that many people are longing for warmth, coziness and a little extra joy in everyday life right now – and the Christmas books are a good way to start the coziness at home, says Jacob Martinelle, Head of Content at Nextory, in a press release.
